Old Halliwell Country Inn

Old Halliwell Country Inn

Nestling on the edge of the misty Karkloof Valley set in a 250-acre estate of rolling wooded hills, these beautifully restored buildings make use of an abundance of antiques. Originally built in the 1830’s as a post house on the wagon route from Durban to the interior, this inn has provided a resting place in the Midlands for nearly two centuries. Each of the individually decorated suites includes its own fireplace and patio as well as wonderful views of the landscape. The meeting place before dinner, Steven's Bar houses a collection of historical books. The complex and grounds contain an outdoor swimming pool and various nature trails. Such a beautiful area provides plenty of opportunity for active leisure, offering sporting facilities such as horse riding, or simply explore the scenic countryside.
